“Stood Up”
Congressman Joe Courtney today released his first ad of the election cycle, entitled “Stood Up.” In the spot, Joe explains his vote against taxpayer-funded bailouts of Wall Street firms who recklessly crashed our economy.
“Here in eastern Connecticut, small businesses and families don’t ask for them,” Courtney says in the ad. “And that’s why I stood up to both parties – and two presidents – to vote against the Wall Street bailout.”
“It’s my job to look out for you, not Washington or Wall Street,” he adds.
Courtney voted against the Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP), better known as the Wall Street Bailout, three times – twice under then-President George W. Bush and once again under President Barack Obama.
There’s only 36 days left until the election – get involved today!
